This exhibition considers the balance between memory and the present. Artist Kelly O’Briant creates porcelain plates to serve as portraits of social distance and remembrances. The quiet, domestic scenes depicted commemorate spaces not filled and intangible connections that endure the effects of time and location.

Saturday, March 27 Emerging Artist Lecture: one day, late in the afternoon… 9:00-10:30am I will discuss work from my exhibition, “one day, late in the afternoon…” Using a minimal color palette to emphasize physical form, O’Briant manipulates atmosphere, emotion and memory. The process of coiling and pinching the clay lends humanity to the surfaces of the objects, which are otherwise inert."
